AI Visibility
AI visibility is the measurable presence and accuracy of a brand inside AI-assistant responses — covering how often it's mentioned, in what tone, with what facts, and against which competitors.
Why it matters
AI visibility is the AEO equivalent of a search ranking — the metric you actually move. Without measuring it, brands have no signal whether their AEO work is paying off. Onsomble's platform exists to make this measurable across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews.
What it measures
AI visibility composes several signals into one view of how a brand shows up across AI assistants:
- Citation frequency — how often the brand appears across a defined prompt set, across multiple models.
- Share of voice — the brand's mention rate vs named competitors on the same prompts.
- Sentiment — whether mentions are positive, neutral, or negative.
- Accuracy — whether AI-described facts about the brand (pricing, services, locations) match reality.
- Source attribution — which third-party domains AI engines actually quote when describing the brand.
Why it's hard to measure manually
Each AI engine returns different answers for the same prompt, those answers vary by region and language, and the answers shift over time as models update. Manual checking — opening ChatGPT and typing a few prompts — gives anecdotal data but no benchmarks. Systematic measurement requires running consistent prompt sets across all major engines on a recurring schedule.
What good visibility looks like
The brand appears across multiple engines, accurately described, ahead of (or alongside) named competitors on category-defining prompts, with correct facts, and with quotes drawn from authoritative third-party sources.
